Thankfully no, he can eat just fine. The problem with CF is that it causes him to have difficulty absorbing the fat in the food he eats so he simply doesn't get enough calories. He did have the g-tube for about 6 months but he was so small and rambunctious he would break it. After the 5th or 6th time we came into his room to find him there with an open hole to his stomach (and rushing him to the ER), we decided to let his hole close up. He hasn't been gaining weight so we had to make the call to get it placed again.
