I'm sure this will draw a lot of ire, but what about the bigger picture, as contrasted to the necessity of creating more jobs? More jobs ultimately facilitates more people, and more people means more resource consumption. More resource consumption is why we are doing what we are doing (to the environment.)

This is not a very kind view, but it shouldn't be overlooked just because it isn't P.C.

Just because you aren't looking someone in the eye, and aren't subject to the same consequences of in person interaction, doesn't mean you should still act as if there are none.

You enjoy using big words, commonly referring to people as 'imbecile', 'moron', etc. way too much. There's really no reason to be as rude as you are, even if you are as intelligent as you think you are.

I'm going to hazard a guess that you live here on Reddit to do just that, so you can fill some void in your life.

I think it's just safer to say that commuting in the DC Metro Area sucks whether you're in a car, on a bike, on foot, on a Segue, on the MARC, or the Metro, and this is why there is so much aggression.

Other than the fact that humans have appointed themselves the pinnacle of all things (living) and can make idiotic, sarcastic, claims such as yours (in very broken sentence structure, I might add) about human vs. non-human life, and rights therein, tell me why seemingly unwarranted cruelty to one vs. the other is justifiable again?

I'd argue we need a lot less opinionated assholes, claiming dominion over everything else, and a lot more nature, which is neither kind, nor cruel, but indifferent (Richard Dawkins), unlike people such as yourself who can easily relegate non-human creatures, to whatever the superior humans desire, presumably because they won't be able to file a police report or similar.

Let's not try and file this away as some form of class or status issue. I think most of us can agree that we don't want to be infringed upon in our homes, and want the freedom to open the windows, go outside, or maybe sit on the porch/back yard and enjoy a relatively serene environment.

People should be able to stand up for those rights without being deemed insert derogatory term here.

As humans, and especially those of us who have been startled, chased, or otherwise felt threatened by a dog, barking, in my opinion, elicits somewhat of an animalistic response (fight or flight), and is not as easily ignored as common city noise, such as traffic, people talking, children at play, etc.

I would say that at any point, a dog's barking becomes more commonplace, than not, is an issue that people should have the right to address without being deemed anti-[fun|animals|whatever].

I've purchased both, but not the latest Intelliscreen X, which I did demo; The primary impetus being its Google Reader support. What I realized, only after installing, is that it imports from Google Reader and does not sync.

In my experience (albeit distant and probably forgetful), I recall Intelliscreen being mildly unstable, because it has many moving parts, which exhibited themselves during the Intelliscreen X demo.

Based on that, I'd recommend LockInfo, unless you have a need for a specific Intelliscreen feature (delta).

I've used both iTeleport and later iSSH when they added in VNC functionality; Both work well for me.

iSSH obviously does SSH, but will also do VNC tunneled over SSH pretty easily, and has additional logic to handle the special "Mac mode" for connecting to OSX machines (issues beginning with Snow Leopard and above, I believe.)

Thanks for the input, everyone! While this issue appears to be sporadic, I have sent this thread to BigBoss for review, because I do feel like there's something larger at play here, other'n just a bad combination of apps, tweaks, etc.

I'm in the same boat, but gonna live w/o SBSettings, because I'm getting freezes that require the sleep/home button reboot process that takes about 2 minutes to come back up.

I've emailed BigBoss (the author) with my findings, and am hoping we can get some more documented cases of this, or similar behavior to define the problem to be affecting more than one device.

I'm inclined to say, that on a newly built/restored/installed iOS5 setup, which exhibited this behavior almost immediately, that there isn't much that can be done, outside of wiping, reinstalling, jailbreaking, and putting only SBSettings + its dependencies on and seeing if this this behavior persists.

...which I don't really have the time to do...

Your idea, while extreme, would certainly address animal cruelty; However, as long as we live in a culture (society?) where animals, including domestic pets, have less protection and rights than humans, when it comes to being protected from abuse and torture at the same standard that humans enjoy, this type of abuse will continue.

My eyes glazed over as I tried to read the whole list, but if there was a company on there I utilized often, I would definitely not hesitate to write them a nastygram.

Why can't you wait for more RPP? Do you live there, or is this just more unnecessary, inflammatory douchiness you're expousing?

I could deluge this thread with more posts of streets that are quite empty during the day (say 8-6 timeframe). My point is, so far, it doesn't seem necessary during this timeframe, because I'm guessing many of the residents are out (at work, etc.)

So, the entire thesis of this thread is not that the streets are now lined with vehicles flying the permit--they're seeing half utilization.

Everyone's argument about the residents needing parking has some merit, but from what I've seen in the albeit limited sample size, there ain't a great demand for resident parking during the day.

So, everyone who's a proponent for this, get off your high horses and come down and look at the utilization of these blocks M-F 8-6pm and see what I'm talking about!
