This kind of information fascinates me. I was recently in Seattle and attended their cities' Underground Tour. I had a great time learning about the history of their city. Aside from museums, Is there anything similar to that in Vancouver? It's a shame that they closed down Storyeum.

None of my videos are in HD, most are TV and DVD/blueray rips. I use xbmc 4 xbox to stream the videos onto my 42" TV. If there is too much quality loss i'll probably abandon the whole thing.

Ignore the linux fanboys, this is the best answer for someone who doesn't know much about computers. Each one of those solutions are pretty simple to implement with a bit of google research. You should also remove whatever antivirus application you have and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials.
