Kentucky fans, what do you think about only playing Tennessee once in the regular season? by T-RexInAnF-14in CollegeBasketball

[–]fidler 0 points1 point ago

I haven't anything about this elsewhere, but dropping UT to once a season while keeping USC and/or Georgia at twice a season doesn't make any sense.

Every time I try to use the Facebook app. Anyone else? by therogueheroin iphone

Oh my, 3-5 minutes!? Mine doesn't take nearly that long, but is clunky and slow most of the time on the 4S.

I'm just pointing out that you made it about Kentucky. I'll just go back to being a 'fucktwat with a fucking stupid ass persecution complex.'

EDIT:

Also, I apologize for the name-calling.

No worries. Whatever, we're both twats then. :P

Because let's make it about UK.

I suppose we'll never know what he would have done; I'll just keep telling myself he would have gone to UK :P

Well I qualified it with likely would have gone, but, no, I make no claims that he was bound for UK anymore than anyone else on this list ultimately was to their respective colleges of interest. He has also stated in recent years that he was a UK fan. Just adding to the what-if fun.

I would have loved to have TMac on that '98 team. My heart flutters...

International, but Dirk would have likely gone to UK in '98. Had he actually considered college. He also visited Cal and Stanford.

Future Coach? by thatradslangin bostonceltics

Ray just seems like the coaching type. Of course, not sure I would have said Doc would be a coach one day, so with that, I'd have to say Paul seems like he could grow into a coach.

As good as this kid is, he could take that two-year mission and come back and still go top-3 (probably #1 pick).

He may never play college ball. Too bad for all of us.

ESPN wants to bring the WatchESPN app to Apple TV by rCX12in cordcutters

[–]fidler 2 points3 points ago

WatchESPN and ESPN3 are different. I have access to ESPN3 through my internet provider, but can not use WatchESPN since I do not have a cable subscription. ESPN3 is not dependent on having a TV subscription.

Generally, ESPN3 is provided through your ISP regardless of a TV subscription. If you don't get ESPN3, then that is because your internet provider does not have an ESPN3 deal.

It's a manufactured controversy.

(It should be noted that this didn't hinder Wall's ability to then sign with Reebok again after college)

And to expound on this point a bit, it's not as if the contract with the school is directly or indirectly a contract with the players in any way, shape or form.

Even if Shabazz came out tomorrow and said the a decisive factor for signing with UCLA was because of Adidas's contract with the school I'd still be pretty meh about all this.

Kentucky's biggest Gooner

At first I was put off by this op; then I remembered, I don't live in that great state anymore :(

Tennessee's biggest Gooner.

It is the offseason and I am having withdrawals. How well do you think your school can do next year? by megamanxzero35in CollegeBasketball

[–]fidler 2 points3 points ago

We'll do well. Win at least the regular season and/or the conference tournament. Expecting Elite 8, maybe Final 4. Then everyone leaves for the NBA.

Same for UCLA.

If Commonwealth had a dome I think that would have been a realistic thing to have already seen several years ago; alas, the game would have to be in early November to avoid the coldest part of the season and even then it'd be stinking cold.

I think there are at most, maybe, 5 programs that could average 100% in an 20,000+ seat arena over the course of a decade and there is no question Kansas is one of those programs.

[–]fidler[S] 1 point2 points ago

Agreed. All the numbers paint a much more full picture. The fact that Kentucky is still #2 (by a hundreth of a percent no less) in arena-capacity when Rupp seats almost 10,000 more than Allen is very impressive. Additionally, Syracuse can sit almost 10,000 more than Rupp and yet UK still averaged more per game in a year when Syracuse would usually average more because they were really good.

about tearing down Allen Fieldhouse.

You mean build a new Kansas arena and leave Allen fully in-tact, right? UK didn't rip down Memorial when they left for Rupp.
