Agreed. Dodds is 72 and certainly could retire in the foreseeable future. He gets most of the credit for the school's deal with ESPN, which was a catalyst for the departure of A&M and Missouri from the Big 12. The millions that the deal produced will likely insulate him from any negative realignment consequences that affect the Longhorns.

IMO, there's a reason this is difficult for you. It's the wrong tool for the job. The Roku is designed to stream content from the WAN, not the LAN. Every channel that enables this capability is a kludge, a workaround to add functionality that was not intended for the device. Good for you, if you get it to work, but just keep in mind that you're swimming against the current to make it happen.

Since the subject of the thread is Mack Brown, a big-picture issue for him that is not mentioned in the article is the fact that Bill Powers, the university president is rumored to be close to being pushed out. He and Powers are close. The next president may not be as supportive of a coach whose teams have struggled in recent years.

Coaches in other states have caught on to the goldmine of QB talent that 7-man offseason football is creating in Texas and they're starting to mine that gold and recruit harder in the state. Ohio State has a new assistant working Texas, a state that the Buckeyes have not previously had much of a recruiting presence in.

It's interesting to watch the the TNT overtime webcast 4-camera view during the halftime show. (You can see the camera feeds even when the show is showing highlights.) They keep a camera trained on Chuck and another on Shaq during the entire show. It seemed like both were holding back last night. Chuck seemed more nervous than Shaq... he kept taking nervous sips from his cup. Shaq just sat and stared at the studio monitors with a bemused smile.

I question whether the Spurs will hang on to Blair after this season. He seems to have become expendable. Good guy, though. Don't blame you for being a fan.

I guess you won't be giving them any money in the foreseeable future. The blackout policy protects the cable and dish companies, so that the channels that carry MLB games can get bundled onto the basic tier of service. This spreads the cost of the channel across all of the subscribers to basic cable, including grandmas who subscribe only for soap operas and cooking shows.

If the blackout goes away, the whole revenue model collapses and MLB makes up for it by jacking MLB.TV subscriptions up to $500/year instead of $129, to make up for the lost revenue.

You can pout all you like. It's not going to change MLB's policy.

You all realize that this is greasing the skids or proving the concept for light rail, right? If you want light rail, then you need for this service to draw big ridership numbers, so ride it!
