Not me, but a friend of mine. She's German. Anyway, she was negotiating a lease on an apartment, and the Management company was Jewish. So of course they're talking in Yiddish, and since it's similar to German, my friend can pick up a few words. The conversation basically goes like this

Her: What language is that (trying to make conversation)

Them: Yiddish

Her: Wow, I'm German so I can make out a few of the words.

Them: Oh wow, we have to be careful what we say then ;)

Her: You know, it's too bad, I don't know why you don't hear Yiddish in Germany anymore...

Them: o_O

Needless to say, the rest of the lease signing was awkward.

It's easier to understand if you take the set of all rational numbers greater than 0 and less than or equal to 1, or (0,1]. It's easy to see that there are infinitely many rationals in this range, but only one integer. Thus, your odds of choosing the one integral number (1) randomly are 1/(∞+1) , or 1/∞. As you approach ∞, this number goes to 0, so choosing 1 out of this set is effectively impossible.

"Full disk" (which is a misnomer; the /boot partition must always be unencrypted because the kernel has to be loaded from somewhere).

It's possible to encrypt /boot. It's just that then grub asks for your password, so you're still open to the maid attack. Using secure boot or the TPM (trusted grub) can fix that.

I saw Michael Cera on the street one day. I squinted at him for a long fucking time trying to decide if it was really him or not. He glared at me as if to say, "I am who you think I am, and don't fucking say anything", and then awkwardly fixed his gaze in the direction he was walking.

Funny thing is he was wearing New Balance shoes and knapsack, hooking his thumbs in the straps. It's like he is never out of character.

Lighten up guys. I didn't actually mean that was the definition of shit music. I was just being snarky, because it's pretty fucking clear from the context that I didn't mean to say STP is shitty, or Interstate Love Song is shitty, just that it's played out. I could have ended the day without hearing that song and I wouldn't have felt like there was something missing.

Heh, I missed that. I think there are two terms for "oxford" in shoes. One just meaing dress shoe and the other meaning you can't see the tongue. Sort of like "oxford shirt" can refer to the cloth or just being a dress shirt. It looks like "oxford" is a pretty overloaded term in mens fashion.

I have to disagree. There are a few good looks here, but most of the stuff looks tame and uninspired. I'm not saying they look bad, but they don't really stand out to me. They open up with a guy in a shakskin (seriously? as if they need to fit the type) sack suit with a matching tie (terrible) and dark shirt. I'm about to reveal how little I know about current basketball stars.

The Bad:

Guy in untucked white shirt (and probably jeans). Looks like every B&T cheeser out on a Saturday night.
Undershirt with a sweater vest and a khaki jacket. This look is played out. Leave it back in 2007 where it belongs.
Nitpick: The chalk stripe grey flannel suit does not match the sheen of that shirt. The shirt says flashy night time wear, the suit says conservative yet casual office

The Good:

Kobe is killing it in the dark tie and blue suit with a nice white pocket square.
The triptych of stills. pretty outrageous looks but done very well.
James' glasses, shirt, and corduroy coat. Actually everything he does.
Maroon tie, looks great, shows how to wear a tie without a jacket. Maroon jacket following as well.
Grey three-piece. These are hard to pull off but he's pulling it off soo hard here.
Salt and pepper grey suit looks amazing. The arc in the tie is a nice touch.
MFA probably hates that fake two toned striped biker jacket but I think that and the Hawaiian shirt red dayfarers following are good as well.
