American Nuns: Guilty as Charged? by NomadicVagabondin Catholicism

Fair enough. There's a bit I disagree with you about, but I think that has more to do with the difference between an insider vs outsider view on Catholicism.

Is North Korea the Only Alternative [to Capitalism]? by NomadicVagabondin progressive

That was exactly the point being made in the piece. He was critiquing Arthur Brooks' book Road to Freedom (as he has been doing all week at David Frum's Daily Beast blog). The criticism in this particular piece is that in his attempt to make the moral case for capitalism Brooks relies on old arguments about Stalinist/Maoist central planning as if this was even being proposed in any serious way or that it is even a viable option today. "Arguments like this feel strangely anachronistic, especially since Brooks writes as if genuine communism was an option some were agitating for this in country." He then goes on to talk about how Brooks simply avoids the question of inequality (a problem that Frum and his colleagues are very attuned to).

Does anybody even bother reading articles before commenting on or downvoting them?

American Nuns: Guilty as Charged? by NomadicVagabondin Catholicism

In what way is it anti-Catholic? It was simply saying that the Leadership Conference of Women Religious has veered away from several of the Vatican's teachings (granted, the author certainly comes down on the side of the nuns on those issues) and that the Vatican has fairly accurately assessed the situation by recognizing the doctrinal differences. At least that was my reading of it.

Is the problem that the author disagrees with the Vatican's positions on various theological issues? I genuinely dont understand the anti-Catholic accusation? I'm just a former Catholic trying to understand.

Sir, you seem to have misunderstood. I don't hate all of America, just those damn papists. You see? It's a much more reasonable position.
