I struggle with the App-izing of the digital world. I understand it from a marketing perspective, but I truly think how they handle it hampers progress. Honestly though, Apple alone does not deserve all of the blame here, they just saw a way to make $$ I suppose, now everyone else has seen the path as well.

It was for me though. I sort of felt duped when I learned more about the specs of the computer I had bought. I was building PCs at the time, but very amateurish, so I didn't really know much about the Mac hardware at the time, and how it really didn't justify the price.

And the first time I had to deal with the "genius bar"... never again.. I don't really wanna sound like a hater so I left this stuff out of the original post, as Macs have their place with some people.

Agreed on that at least. I don't mind what they do. they definitely serve their purpose. I just have trouble justifying the price considering the hardware you'd get in even the most expensive Apple computers.

However, money is not an object to some people, so they are free to spend it as it pleases them of course.

Before the flamewar starts, I am totally aware that this is an issue of personal preference. But I like the fine tuning you can do with a PC, and swapping out components, and the abundance of free ware to test/tinker with.. It just feels more hands-on to me, which is something I like. Not everyone does, understandably.

I have very little idea of why my car starts, but it gets me places. I completely understand why some people see computers the same way. I've come to terms with that.
